Land Your Next Law Job with Clarity, Confidence, and Support
The In-House and Lateral Accelerator
The accelerator gives lawyers a proven system to land the right next role, position their experience, and run a strategic job search so they can stop spinning their wheels and start moving toward a role that actually fits.
- Translate your experience into the language hiring managers use
- Get referrals that consistently lead to interviews, even if you don't have connections at the company
- Confidently answer any interview question
- Work with recruiters in a way that benefits your search
- Negotiate your compensation so that nothing gets left on the table
“I felt like I had the answers before the exam during my interviews. Rachel taught me how to reframe my experience as applicable and versatile, instead of niche and non-transferrable. I wouldn’t have thought to talk about my experience in the way Rachel taught me. Before working with Rachel, I had to find all job leads myself. After her networking coaching, people in my network started to regularly send me job opportunities.”
-Â Counsel, fintech company
In-house and lateral hiring is a black box... and  there are three key inflection points where lawyers' job searches get derailed:
Â
1. Finding the best opportunities. You're tired of refreshing job boards every day, only to see the same roles come up. You feel like you’re missing out on the best opportunities. That’s because there’s a whole ecosystem of job postings that come through referrals, and no one has shown you how to tap into it.
2. Landing interviews. You feel like you're sending resumes into a black hole. You’re submitting applications but getting rejected before you even land a screening interview (or worse, not hearing back at all). That's because you’re missing the key step that successful job applicants use after they apply to convert applications into interviews.
3. Getting the offer. You're landing interviews for great jobs, only to get passed over in the final rounds for another candidate. You’re likely falling for one of many interview traps, which can override and tank success for even the most qualified candidates.
I was stuck in the black box, too.
Â
When IÂ finished law school, I thought I could "do anything" with a JD. I got a job at a large law firm in New York after graduation.
But when I was ready to move on to my next role, I had no idea where to start. No one ever taught me how to figure out my next step, let alone how to land an in-house or lateral job.
After two years of ineffective resumes, fruitless networking calls, dozens of applications, and no offers, I finally landed a great job as the law editor of the Vault guides. That role took me down a new career path, and in 2016, I was tapped by a top law firm to create its career coaching and job placement program. And after helping hundreds of lawyers successfully navigate their job searches, I came to understand the problem:
If you don't have a roadmap for your in-house or lateral search, and instead rely on job boards, recruiters, and ineffective networking, you risk winding up confused, frustrated, or worst of all – stuck in the wrong job.
THIS IS WHAT'S INSIDE THE ACCELERATOR.
It contains the roadmap and strategies I wish I had years ago when I was starting out. And it's the same playbook I’ve shared with hundreds of lawyers who have gone on to land and thrive in their dream jobs.
Whether you’re just starting to explore new opportunities or you’ve been applying without success, this program is designed to help you move forward with clarity, strategy, and momentum, so you can land your ideal role.

MEETÂ RACHEL BOUFFORD
ABOUT ME
I have coached hundreds of lawyers of all seniority levels, from junior associates to partners and general counsel. I've helped lawyers do the "impossible:" go directly from associate to general counsel, change practice areas as a mid-level associate, and go in-house without taking a pay cut, to name a few.
I graduated from Harvard Law School and practiced at Davis Polk in New York. I then served as Law Editor of Vault.com, where I oversaw Vault’s Guide to the Top 100 Law Firms and got to read 17,000+ associate survey responses about all facets of law firm life. I went on to run the career coaching and job placement program at Sullivan & Cromwell, before founding Your Next Law Job and the In-House and Lateral Accelerator.
